Gender Equality: Where are we now?

Our aim with atom*innen is first of all to inform: We want to emphasize that, despite some progress within the last decades, there are still too few women in Austria (and in Europe in general) who choose physics as a career. In many countries, you can find a clear imbalance between men and women in physics.

In this section you can find data showing the proportion of women in physics in different countries and also over time. Furthermore, we collect research on women in (quantum) physics and also on women in STEM. Soon, we will also publish numbers of recognition: How many physics prizes are awarded to women in different countries?
