Short bio

Floriana Lombardi is a Full Professor at Chalmers University of Technology, where she leads an interdisciplinary research group specializing in quantum materials and nanodevices. Her team investigates strongly correlated quantum materials using a broad range of advanced approaches, including the synthesis of nanometer-thick thin films and the nanofabrication of quantum-limited sensors.

Her research further integrates cutting-edge synchrotron-based spectroscopy with the characterization of nanodevices at millikelvin temperatures. Floriana Lombardi has authored over 200 scientific publications. In 2024, she was named a Knut and Alice Wallenberg Scholar, and in 2026 she was selected as one of 22 researchers for the Chalmers Academic Excellence Programme.
