Claudia Politi (she/her) was born on 3rd November 1992 in Naples, Italy. She started her studies in physics in 2011 at the Second University of Naples, and in 2014 she received her bachelor’s degree with a thesis on Optical Phase Locked Loop, supervised by Prof. Livio Gianfrani. Afterwards, she moved to Pisa to start her master studies. There, she became fascinated by laser cooling and trapping of atoms, as well as degenerate quantum gases. This interest led her to the group of Prof. Francesca Ferlaino in Innsbruck (Austria) as an external master's student, working on the erbium-dysprosium experiment. After graduating in October 2017, she started as a PhD student in the same research group, focusing on many-body quantum phases of dipolar erbium and dysprosium atoms. In May 2023, she received her PhD degree and short after she joined the group of Prof. Jonathan Home at ETH Zürich as a postdoctoral researcher, working on quantum information with circular Rydberg states.
