Born in Popayán, Colombia, in 1995, Carolina (she/her) earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Engineering from the University of Cauca and a Master's degree in Applied Physics from EAFIT University. Her academic focus has been on plasma-assisted deposition techniques, the development of nano-scale coatings, and hard coatings for steel. In 2022, she completed a three-month research stay at IRCER in Limoges, France. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at the University of Paris-Saclay, where she is researching high-entropy nano alloys for mechanical applications, utilizing wet chemistry and pulsed laser deposition techniques.
