SUMMARY:Women's rights day - 8th of March
DESCRIPTION:The 8th of March is the day for Women’s rights. For that occasion we will watch the short video we made about women and girls in physics and then have some pastries together. \n\nThat day is not about offering flowers to the women in your life, it is about fighting with them for their rights🚀\nHere is a reminder of some of the rights women had to fight for in Austria: \n1918: women are allowed to vote (1907 for men)\n1957: women are allowed to open their own bank account\n1975: women are allowed to work without the consent of their husband, to decide where to live and to choose their family name\n1975: abortion law\nand a French one, 2013: the law against women wearing pants is abolished in France (yes, this one is a funny stupid one 😉)\n\nIf you wonder why we still need to advocate for gender equality, equal pay (as shown by the Equal Pay Day, which for Austria was the 31th of October last year) is one of the many whys. \n\nI look forward to seeing you there! 🌈\n
